A photo is not the whole application

This application asks for more than one file. Preparing the photo correctly and stopping there means submitting an incomplete application, so here is the full list.

   Square, 600×600 to 1200×1200 px, JPEG, 240 KB or less, taken within the last six months. Head size and eye position are measured here.

2. 02Passport biographic and signature page

   A JPEG scan of the page carrying your photo, passport number and signature. PDFs are rejected. The entry form states its own file size limit — read it there; we do not guess it.

The U.S. Department of State does not accept a digitally altered photo — a rule in force since January 1, 2026. Photos altered with computer software, phone apps, filters or AI are not accepted — including background editing, skin smoothing and lighting adjustment. Automated checks flag altered photos before a reviewer sees the application.

Resize Relay measures your photo, crops it and resamples it to the required dimensions. It does not smooth skin, relight your face, replace your background or generate anything. That is why the result is still your photograph — and why this check tells you to retake a photo rather than quietly fixing one.

DV-2027 dates not yet announced

Checked 19 September 2026. The State Department paused the Diversity Visa programme in December 2025 and has not announced DV-2027 registration dates. A final rule effective 10 April 2026 requires every entrant to submit their passport number, country of issuance and expiry, plus a JPEG scan of the passport's biographic and signature page, with the entry form — JPEG only, PDFs are rejected. A $1 registration fee applies, with no waiver. Do not rely on the historic October–November window; check the official announcement before you rely on any date here.
